Meet Our Leadership Team
Bernd M. “Bernie” Ronnisch
Bernie founded Ronnisch Construction Group in 1994 in an effort to redefine the reputation of the building industry. Drawing upon his 25+ years in the construction industry, Bernie, along with his Leadership Team, has created the Ronnisch Way we believe this elevates our company far above the competition. Giving back to the community is something Bernie truly believes in and is on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of South Oakland County, Judson Center, and the Robert A. Schuele Scholarship Fund. He also is a member of the Finance Council at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church in Beverly Hills, MI. He holds a B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from Lawrence Technological University. Bernie resides in Birmingham, MI with his wife and three daughters and enjoys golf, reading and traveling.
Mary Lynn Phillips
Vice President of Accounting and Human Resources
As Senior Project Accountant, with 24 years in the industry, Mary Lyn manages all accounting, Human Resources and Insurance needs for Ronnisch Construction Group. Originally brought to our team over 13 years ago to assist the finance department, she has developed into a leader and integral part of our Finance and Risk Management Department. Mary Lyn works closely with her team to generate accurate and timely project billings, and coordinate prompt subcontractor payments while ensuring a high level of risk management through strict procedural compliance. She provides analytical review of individual project results encompassing owner and subcontractors, as well as internal performance. Whenever possible, Mary Lyn enjoys volunteering at her daughter’s school and supporting High School Softball. She has been married for 22 years, with 3 children, and an enormous German Shepherd. Her family enjoys becoming “Floridians” on an annual basis.
Vice President of Pre-Construction
Tim’s career, spanning over 20 years, includes field experience as both Superintendent and Project Manager. However, the bulk of his career and where his passion lies, is in the pre-construction / estimating department. Tim has proven to be a key leader at Ronnisch Construction Group – as Vice President of Pre-Construction, he oversees the estimating and procurement of all of our projects. Tim’s estimating experience includes a wide variety of projects ranging from $100 thousand to over $100 million. He is well versed in all aspects of project estimating and delivery methods, including: design-build, conceptual estimating & budgeting, and lump sum bidding. Tim takes a great deal of pride in developing detailed and accurate budgets and bids, which prove to be the first critical component of any successful construction project. Tim earned his Bachelors of Science in Construction Management from Eastern Michigan University. When he is not crunching numbers, Tim enjoys coaching travel baseball, attending his sons’ sporting events, and spending time with his family and friends.
Vice President of Project Management
As a Senior Project Manager, Steve has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry and is noted for building close relationships with his clients. Steve is experienced in all phases of commercial General Contracting, Construction Management, and Design/Build projects. His professional experience includes work in both public and private sectors, as well as a wide range of educational, religious, public/civic, industrial, commercial, hospitality, office, restaurant, and retail projects. Steve has a Florida CGC License for unlimited hi-rise construction and has been involved in many trade organizations over the years. Steve has three adult children and enjoys fishing, golf, and spending time with family and friends in Northern Michigan.
