The JRC Story
Our Story
Founded in 1994 as Dowler-Ronnisch by Bernie Ronnisch and David Dowler, the company that is now Jarbou Ronnisch Construction began with a simple vision: build with integrity and build lasting relationships. Early success with ground-up automotive and financial institution projects established a strong foundation for the firm, including what would become 129 financial institution builds across the region.
In 2000, the company rebranded as Ronnisch Construction Group and steadily expanded its portfolio to include large-scale commercial, industrial, retail, and mixed-use developments. Major milestones along the way included the completion of a 400,000-square-foot warehouse, national retail rollouts such as Home Depot and Rite Aid, and long-term partnerships with brands like Goldfish Swim School.
The firm’s growth has been guided by thoughtful leadership evolution. Frank Jarbou joined the company first as a client and later became an Owner and Partner, while Tim Honoway joined as Vice President of Preconstruction and rose through the ranks to become President in 2024. The opening of a Detroit office and a new headquarters further strengthened the firm’s ability to serve clients across Michigan and beyond.
By 2025, the company had surpassed $1 billion in construction value delivered and 18 million square feet built, including nearly 70 projects completed in the City of Birmingham alone.
In March 2026, the firm entered its next chapter with a new name: Jarbou Ronnisch Construction. The change honors the company’s strong foundation while reflecting the leadership helping guide its future. Today, Jarbou Ronnisch Construction continues to build on that legacy—combining experience, trusted partnerships, and disciplined execution to deliver projects built on solid ground.
