Royal Oak, November 14, 2024 – Ronnisch Construction Group is proud to announce the promotion of Tim Honoway to President of the company. This leadership transition marks a new chapter in the company’s evolution as Bernie Ronnisch steps aside after 30 years of outstanding leadership. Bernie will remain involved in operations as an advisor, continuing to support the company with his vast knowledge and connections in the industry.

Tim Honoway brings 27 years of construction industry experience, with a degree in Building Construction Management from Eastern Michigan University. For the past nine years, Tim has been an essential part of the leadership team at Ronnisch, most recently serving as Senior Vice President and leading the company’s estimating and operations teams. He is known for his exceptional attention to detail. He takes great pride in working closely with clients from concept to closeout, ensuring every project is executed with precision and care.

August 22, 2024 – Ronnisch Construction Group has been honored as one of Crain’s 2024 Best Places to Work in Southeast Michigan.

Crain’s Best Places to Work in Southeast Michigan identifies, recognizes, and celebrates the top companies in the region for their outstanding workplace environments. This year, Ronnisch Construction Group was recognized at a celebratory luncheon on August 22 at The Roostertail in Detroit. The event featured a keynote presentation and a panel discussion highlighting what makes a company truly exceptional to work for.

To compile the 2024 list, Crain’s partnered with Workforce Research Group to evaluate each registered company’s workplace policies, practices, benefits, and demographics. This initial evaluation accounted for approximately 20% of the total score. The subsequent step involved surveying thousands of employees about their experiences, working conditions, benefits, and corporate culture, which made up the remaining 80% of the evaluation. Workforce Research Group then analyzed the data to determine the final rankings.

Companies considered for this recognition must:

  • Have at least 15 full- or part-time permanent employees working in Southeast Michigan (including Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Ingham, Livingston, Lapeer, Genesee, St. Clair, Monroe, Lenawee, and Jackson counties).
  • Operate a physical location in Southeast Michigan.
  • Have been in business for at least one year by the program registration deadline.
  • Register and pay an entry fee, which includes an employer assessment, employee feedback survey, and access to a feedback data dashboard for the participating companies.

The team led by Super Bowl Champion Matt Stafford and his wife Kelly, Say Detroit, OX Studio, and Ronnisch Construction Group held a groundbreaking ceremony late last week.

The event was attended by several local dignitaries and contributors to the project including Mayor Duggan, Mitch Albom, the AA Van Elslander Foundation, Trinity Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, The Forbes Company, the Tom Gores Family Foundation, and the Artichoke Garlic Foundation.

The Stafford’s, along with others, have contributed significantly to the existing facility including Stafford Field, a first-class football field, and now a building addition to the existing center that will continue to serve the youth in this community.

We have broken ground in Royal Oak at the Hazelton Apartment site. This 5-story, 69 unit complex with zero lot lines, is a premier development for Royal Oak. The facility will feature a two-level below grade parking area and top of the line apartment amenities.

The project is scheduled for completion later this year.
