Mid-Year Momentum: What JRC Has Been Building
Halfway through 2026, and the pace hasn’t let up. From a 3,580-square-foot architect’s office built to exacting standards, to the largest Powerhouse Gym in the world, JRC has delivered at every scale this year — and the second half is shaping up to build on it.
The Architect’s Choice: McIntosh Poris Architects Trusted JRC to Build Their Own Home
An architect spends every day imagining how a space should come together — the structure, the light, the details that separate good from exceptional. So when an award-winning architecture firm decides to build something of their own, the question of who they hand it to says everything.
McIntosh Poris Architects chose JRC.
Founded in 1994 and named AIA Michigan’s 2024 Firm of the Year, MPA is one of Detroit’s most respected design practices. When they relocated their practice to Detroit, they didn’t shop the work around — they brought it to a builder they already knew and trusted. JRC delivered their new 3,580-square-foot office, and the project is now complete.
There’s no tougher client than the one who designs buildings for a living. Every line is scrutinized, every finish held to a standard. That’s exactly why this project matters: an architect inviting JRC to construct their own workspace is one of the clearest endorsements of a partnership built on trust, shared standards, and dependable execution.
JRC has built alongside MPA before on Higginbotham, New Center Plaza, Parent Street Lofts, and more. This time, JRC built for them — and would do it again tomorrow.

From the President: Mid-Year Momentum
Halfway through 2026, and the pace hasn’t let up.
JRC has delivered at every scale this year, from a 3,580 SF architect’s office built to the most exacting standards, to the largest Powerhouse Gym in the world. Phase One at HealthCall is complete. The team is preparing to break ground on new multi-family housing in Detroit. And JRC is welcoming national names like Ford, Bedrock, and Kroger to its roster.
What ties it together isn’t square footage — it’s the way the JRC team shows up with coordination, discipline, and relationships that turn a set of drawings into something real. The first half of the year proved what this team can do. The second half is where they build on it.
— Tim Honoway, President
From the Field: Cutting the Ribbon on the World’s Largest
The doors are officially open. JRC joined ownership, partners, and the community to celebrate the ribbon cutting at Powerhouse Gym at Partridge Creek.
The 120,000 SF adaptive-reuse project transformed a vacant former Carson’s department store into a multi-level fitness destination. Seeing the crowd walk through doors the team built is what it’s all about.

Building Hope: Team JRC Walked for Bernie
On June 17, Team JRC laced up and hit the pavement to raise funds for glioblastoma research in honor of founder Bernie Ronnisch, whose legacy continues to shape how the company leads, builds, and supports one another every day.
Thanks to the generosity of employees, partners, and friends, Team JRC raised more than $8,000 for glioblastoma research. Every dollar goes toward the work that brings hope to families facing one of the most devastating diagnoses there is.
The race is over, but the fight isn’t. You can still give at fundraise.gbmresearch.org/jrc.
